Camping Tents

We have a huge range of tents for sale and if you haven't bought a tent before, or its been a while, you'll notice there are many styles to choose from.

Buying Tips, when considering a leisure tent:

Consider more berths than the minimum. A larger tent gives you flexibility in terms of numbers, where you can put kit, or sit inside when the weather isn't so great.  Often a tent is an investment for years to come and there may be additional family members or visitors in the future. Very large tents will be heavy so take into consideration what weight you can realistically cope with getting it to a from your car. Many people will go for the maximum size they can comfortably store and/or carry.

Check the fabric. Hydrostatic head is a good measure of weather resistance and typically ranges from 1500 - 6000mm for leisure tents. The hydrostatic head is a benchmark of the fabric's resistance to water; the higher the number, the more resistant it is. For summer camping 3000mm or less can be adequate. Higher grade fabrics will usually result in a heavier, more expensive but longer lasting tent.

Poles or Air frame? Poled tents remain very popular and the majority of frames are made of fibreglass/alloy and are pretty straightforward to erect, before clipping the flysheet to the frame. Air framed tents are more expensive on a size-for-size basis and have stuctural tubes integrated in the flysheet and there is no structural frame to assemble - just inflate the frame tubes and peg out. Air framed tents are generally quicker to erect and there is no chance that you have left the bag of poles at home!
